-------------------- 15 -------------------- Date: Wed, 28 Feb 2007 08:58:25 -0500 (GMT-05:00) From: sueditt.mindspring.com Subject: CARE has Barn Cats for Adoption
Chatham Animal Rescue and Education has two beautiful barn cats available for adoption. These cats were abandoned and left to fend for themselves late last year. The location where they have been living is not safe for semi-friendly cats. At this location, we have seen instances where a cat was stoned to death and another crippled with a rock. One of the cats now available had a severe laceration on her spleen from blunt trauma, again most likely from stoning. Both cats have been sterilized, tested negative for FeLV and FIV, vaccinated and treated with Frontline Plus. You must be willing to provide a safe, sheltered area for them to live, food, water and appropriate vet care as needed. They will require a controlled introduction to their new home, and a CARE volunteer will assist with detailed directions. CARE does not charge an adoption fee for barn cats. Please help us find a place for these cats. Thank you,
Sue Edwards Visit our website www.chathamanimalrescue.org

Basic Jewelry Making - Metal Smithing
Learn how to make jewelry in a fully equipped studio. Students learn how to cut, saw, file, texture, drill and polish in the beginning classes. In the advanced class, soldering is taught. Students work with bronze, copper, and silver. Class size is limited, so please sign up early. Studio is located 3 miles from Fearrington Village.
Monthly classes cost $60 a month, for 4 classes. Classes start over every month.
Wed. & Thur. morning classes are from 9:30 to noon. Wed & Thru. Evening classes are from 6:30 to 9 pm. Students can attend any of the class times to obtain the 4 classes per month. Monthly class times cannot be carried over to the next month.
In March, there will also be Saturday classes, on the 10th & 13th. The Saturday classes run from 9:30 AM to 3:30 PM with time out for lunch. The fee for these 2 days is $120.
The first month class fee includes a packet of metals. This is usually enough to complete many pairs of earrings. The second month there is a small materials fee, usually about $5. Most people walk away with a pair of earrings from the first day of class. If attending the weekend classes, there are many pairs of earrings made.
Classes are taught by Monnda Welch, a metal smith since 1990. For more information, please call 919-244-3711 or monnda.intrex.net.
