Subject: Special Dog
Hello! My name is Socks (I'm a dog) and I am looking for a special home.
Only two months ago, I was completely paralyzed in my hind legs. Thanks to lots of hard work from both my friends at Cole Park Veterinary Hospital and specialists at NC State College of Veterinary Medicine, I am walking again! I am still quite clumsy, and wear protective boots on my feet but my progress has been amazing!! I will likely always need a bit of special care and would continue to benefit from physical therapy (which Cole Park can teach my owner). I will have another surgery in a few months to remove electrodes that were implanted to help repair my spinal cord (done at no charge). I would do best in a house without lots of stairs and prefer carpeted floors. I love to run and play & get along with everyone I meet (dogs, cats, and people). I’m able to go on moderate walks, and don’t know whether I will ever be able to hike long distances.
I am a one year old male boxer mix. I am neutered and current on my shots. I am a little underweight right now, but am getting stronger all the time. I am getting better every day, and there is hope I will continue to improve over the next 6 months!
If you are able to provide such a special home for me, please ask! We will schedule a time to meet with me & can provide you with an application and information regarding my possible adoption. Hinged Secretary Desk w/ Lock Bombay Company Dark WoodFantastic book shelf/desk combo measures 24" wide (2 ft) by about 47" tall and 10" deep (when desk closed, add 12" when open). Not sure what kind of wood it is but it's a solid, heavy piece. Retailed for over $300 -- in like new condition. Asking $125 but open to all reasonable offers as I've got to get some things cleared out that are taking up space.
Vintage Kenwood Floor Standing Speaker Set - $125I'm parting with my much beloved Kenwood JL-883 L floor standing 3 way 3 speaker system 140W speakers. Measure 41" tall, 15.25" wide and 12.75" deep. With all the hot weather lately, I have been pulling plants from the greenhouse, repotting, and dividing. As a result, I have a lot of plants that I would like to let others nurture and enjoy. I have perennials and annuals, and a lot of tropicals. Selection includes herbs, fruit (pineapple, banana, citrus), ferns, palms, succulents, cactus, and more. Price will depend on the type of pot, the maturity of the plant, and how expensive the mother plant was.
The plants will be available this Saturday (March 31) morning 9-12. I live in Bynum on the north side of the Haw river downstream from the old mill. If you drive past the Methodist church and then past the mill, there is a dirt road just before Bynum Church Road makes a turn to go back up the hill. I live down this dirt road, just beyond the entrance to the State Protected Area hiking trail.
If possible, please hike to my house after parking in the mill parking lot as my drive cannot accommodate more than a few cars.

Hi all, monthly jewelry classes start again on April 4. Classes are held on Wed. & Thur., both morning and evenings available. There will also be classes held on April 14 & 21, which are all day Saturday classes. These classes are for beginner students who want to learn about making metal jewelry. This is not a wire wrapping class, although some wire manipulation is taught. Students learn basic metal smithing with brass, bronze, copper and silver metals. Skills learned are sawing, forging, texturing, forming and connecting. Many students move on to more advanced techniques. No experience is necessary and all tools are provided in the studio. Guinness is a friendly, good looking boy. He has had it a little rough, as he was tied and neglected early on. He has been pretty spoiled by the residents in Bynum, but now that he has had his shots, and is heartworm negative (!!), he is looking for a forever home.
He is about 65 pounds, neutered male. He was brown and browner, but had a bath, and there is WHITE in there!
If he sounds like someone you want to meet, please give us a call! We can set up a meeting with this terriffic guy!
